Ryan Dokich Obituary

Ryan Dokich
October 24, 1979 - February 26, 2023
With heavy hearts we regret to inform you that Ryan Dokich, aka "Roscoe Shockey" has left the planet.
As with most of us, Ryan was a complex person and during his life he fought and won many battles. Although he had a lion's heart, some wounds run too deep and not every battle can be won. On February 26, 2023, Ryan lost his final battle.
Ryan Allyn Dokich was born October 24, 1979 in Orange, CA. He was lively, smart, and bold as a child. He had a curiosity that put the "cat" to shame, and his mother encouraged it. Ry grew to be a handsome charismatic man with a quick wit. He served honorably in the Marine Corps and worked in many different vocations. While living in California, he met and married the love of his life, Viviana Salas. He graduated Cum Laude from California State University San Marcos with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduation Ryan and Viviana relocated to Texas to be near their families and pursue new opportunities. Ryan was quickly recognized for his intelligence and work ethic by Vitesco Technologies who began grooming him for high level management.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Viviana Salas Dokich; his mother, Karen E. Shutes, and his father, Bill Botto; grandmother Phyllis Hollywood and grandfather, Steve Foster; grandmother Ginny Shutes; Aunts Michele (Kris) Herchberger; Jennifer (Erik) Mansoor; Uncles Grover (Charlotte) Shutes; Damon Shutes; and Robert (Luciene) Botto. Cousins Codi, Kara, Daniel, Andrew, Matthew, Katie, Abbie, Teagan, Kellan, and the newest additions to Ryan's family, Miss Crazy Fire and Miss Samantha.
With our deepest gratitude we want to also mention the "brothers" that Ryan chose, Jose Salas and James Wilson. Special mention to Mama Luisa.
We thank you, Ryan, for all the love and joy that you brought into all of our lives.
You will live forever in our hearts and in our memories. We love and miss you, so!
We pray that all of your wounds are now healed.
Until we meet again…Rest in Peace.
In lieu of flowers you may donate to any of the following organizations: MD Anderson Cancer Center, Shriners Hospitals for Children, San Antonio Humane Society, Mike Rowe Foundation Works.
There will be a Celebration of Life at The Veranda https://theverandasa.com/ March 14, 2023. Visitation with the family begins at 4:00pm with a service at 7:00pm. Location: 1746 Lockhill Selma Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78213.

I´m a friend of Ryan from the time he spent in Escondido, CA.

Ryan was a sweetheart of a guy, kind, articulate, funny, honorable and resilient. Ryan loved his family deeply and with their love and support he regained his health and moved on to his destiny. Ryan´s spirit touched me deeply and my heart and condolences go out to his family and friends in Texas.

With a heavy heart I write these words in remembrance of Ryan. He was a good playmate to my daughter Jessica when she was little and always treated her as a little sister. He was a protector and the funny boy with a big smile that warms your heart. He will always be that boy in my memory. Rest now with peace in your heart Big Ry. Love Crystal
