Salvador Molina Obituary

Dr. Salvador Molina, who was very loved by his wife and family, peacefully entered into his Heavenly Father's arms on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 in his home in Lytle, Texas. He was 78 years old. Dr. Molina was born in El Paso, Texas on May 14, 1927 to Ofelia Molina. He spent most of his childhood in El Paso, Texas where he graduated from Bowie High School with academic and athletic distinctions. He served his country in the U. S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Corpus Christi and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His education included several degrees, the last of which was Doctor of Theology Degree in 1985. During his lifetime, he held several positions: Baptist minister, professor at Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary, and most recently, language instructor at Lackland Air Force Base. He served as Pastor in Fort Worth, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his devoted and caring wife of 32 years, Elida. He was the dear father of three children, Ronald J. Molina (Mary), Delilah Lopez (Frank), and Rebekkah Zepeda, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. This precious man influenced so many lives and was loved and respected by those who knew him; he will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Sunday December 4, 2005 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday December 5, 2005 at First Mexican Baptist Church, 201 Meredith Drive, with Rev. Alfonso Flores officiating. I am so sorry to hear about Sal. I so enjoyed visiting with him at our high school reunions and watched with fascination at how active he was through his pictures and updates on our website. If he wasn't hunting--he was fishing! His passion for life shined through everything he did. He will be missed by many.
