Santos Padilla Obituary

Santos H. Padilla passed away with gentle dignity on January 19, 2005. He was a fun - loving man that lit up the room with his smile. Born in Mexico on November 1, 1942, and raised in Reynosa; he spent the early part of his life devoted to the Catholic faith as an altar boy. As he matured and after service to the Mexican Army, he fulfilled his wish to live out the "American Dream" as he immigrated north, traveled extensively, and finally found a home in San Antonio, Texas. He devoted himself to hard work, patriotism, leading an honorable life, and deeply loving his family. He found a livelihood, friendship and a sense of purpose through his 32 years of service in the restaurant business; whereupon, he owned and ran Bobbie's Caf 5/8. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the history of World War II, and music. His laughter, witty sense of humor, wisdom, companionship, and encouragement will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bobbie; daughters, Jessica Acosta and husband Luis, Christina Padilla; sons, David, Randy and wife Nancy, and Jerry and his wife Margaret; his "pride and joy", his grandchildren, Greg and wife Ana, Jeff, Amanda, Pamela, Kelly, Matt and Alex. For numerous family and friends, from fishing and hunting buddies to coffee-drinking pals, Santos will be treasured in all our hearts forever. SERVICES Visitation will be on Friday, from 4:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with Deacon Alvino Pacheco officiating. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South. Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
