Sidney Terry Obituary
Sidney D. Terry, age 86, passed away the morning of June 25, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian Terry, sons and daughters-in-law James and Cindy Hollingsworth and David and Cheryl Terry. Grandchildren, Jamie Michels, Dustin Terry, and Chelsea Terry Warner. Great-grandchildren, Wesley Guild and Ian Michels, and nieces Carol Garcia and Bonnie Fickel. Sid was born November 12, 1920 in Teague, Texas. He moved to San Antonio in the 1940's where he and Marian were married in 1946. After that he went to work for Texas Protective Life Ins. Co. where he remained for over 50 years, and as sales manager was instrumental in the company's growth. From childhood on he enjoyed his various pets, always having a soft spot for the dog or cat that was fortunate enough to share his home. As a dedicated witness of Jehovah, he served in different capacities as needed, from giving public talks to helping manage the contributions from the different conventions he and his family attended. Working with his hands, gardening, cuttin' and burnin' at his son's properties where he could "breathe that fresh air", always provided relief from his lifelong battle with asthma. And then there were the weekends, when he and his blonde bombshell could have their dates, dining and dancing like a couple of kids. Sid, the husband, father, and friend, had a heartfelt faith in the Bible's promise of an earthly resurrection. He looked forward to the time when the earth would be returned to its original paradise condition as intended by our creator, Jehovah. Until as a family we can be together under this arrangement, he will be dearly missed. Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 4:00PM and conducted by Hoyle Brazell. Location will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5950 Lockhill Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
