Steven John Williams

1955 - 2016

Steven Williams, age 61 passed away on Wednesday June 15 surrounded by family and friends.
He was born at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, So. Dakota. He travelled with his family throughout the USA and Morocco and Japan. He graduated from Chofu High School in Tokyo. He then attended New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology for two years. He transferred to Montana State University where he graduated with a degree in Photography and Film.
Steve worked for the Sheriff's Department in Great Falls Montana and enjoyed fishing and outdoor life. In 1984 he moved to New York City and spent 29 years in Manhattan working as a freelance photographer and fine furniture builder.
Steve was a member of the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC and active at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan.
He moved to San Antonio when the effects of ALS (Lou Gehrig 's disease) prevented him from living on his own any longer.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Walter H Williams. He is survived by his mother Eleanor S Williams, sister Susan Harvey of Tucson, AZ and brother Scott Williams and wife Gladys of San Antonio, nephew Ivan Jaczko and wife Victoria of Oklahoma.
Many thanks to his care givers, Sophia Rhone and Lia Lucaci, and all the hospice and ALS Association friends who were so good to him. A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 950 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio 78228 on Sunday 10 July 2016 at 3PM.
