Stuart Lee Cavender passed away on February 16, 2021. A native, and life-long resident, of San Antonio, Stuart attended Alamo Heights schools and the University of Texas at Austin. He married his college sweetheart and the love of his life, Allyson Patton of Nacogdoches, Texas, on the opening day of deer season in 1981; as testimony to how much he was loved, not a single friend missed the wedding, despite the choice of date.
Stuart joined the family automobile business in 1981 and partnered with his father and older brothers in building the business their grandfather founded in 1939. Stuart was a friend to everyone and treated everyone he met with respect and kindness. Stuart loved people and people loved
Stuart. When the family decided to buy the Chevrolet store in Boerne, Stuart volunteered to take on the task of building relationships in a new community. He and the new dealership thrived because of his genuine and embracing nature. He served on the Chevrolet National Dealer Council and was a well-respected dealer in the region.
Stuart loved his family and friends and made everyone feel as though they were the most important person in the room. Stuart enjoyed nothing more than spending time (generally laughing) with Allyson and their three children, of whom he was so proud. He loved being together and making memories with them at the lake, their house in Leakey, and on the back porch of their home. He enjoyed the outdoors and was as comfortable on the golf course as he was on a South Texas hunt. Stuart was a devoted Episcopalian and was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Stuart was a member of the Argyle, the San Antonio Country Club, Club Giraud, the Texas Cavaliers, the Order of the Alamo, the San Antonio German Club, and the Merry Knights of King William.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Byrd
Cavender. Stuart is survived by his mother, Betty Menefee Cavender; his loving wife of 39 years, Allyson Patton
Cavender; daughters, Blake and Southy; son Lee and wife Catriona and granddaughter, Clara; his brothers Billy
Cavender and wife Katie, Bobby Cavender and wife Stephanie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stuart was a true friend and we had a working relationship and more than that, a friendship that was always evident of how we shared different things together. I will miss him and I also know I will see him and be with him eternally in Heaven. I will be praying for the family and pray for the best for all of them. I wish I could be there to take care of the Audio/Video in their home! God bless all of you!!
