Tara Nancy Beirnes Lodek

Our beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend died on February 10, 2011. Tara was born December 10, 1969 in Detroit, MI and moved to Spring, TX with her parents in 1981. After Chuck and Tara met, she moved to San Antonio. They were married October 23, 2010. Tara had an exciting career as a helicopter pilot, private and commercial, for 15 years and was a member of Whirly-Girls, International Women Helicopter Pilots. She is survived by her husband, Chuck, parents, Glenn and Carla Beirnes, brother Steven and wife Susan; Charles and Jelane Lodek, Christopher Lodek and Ceci Maldonado, and many friends. A private family memorial was held at their home on Saturday with the family pastor and friend, Jonathan Wickham. Memorials may be made in Tara's name to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, San Antonio; The Colorectal Cancer Coalition; Haven for Hope; or the ASPCA.

Tara, Traci & December

I wish with all my heart there was something I could say to ease the pain of Steven, Carla & Glenn. But I know there isn't. Tara was like a daughter to me. Even tho I haven't seen her in many years, she & her family have always been a part of my heart. Part of my chosen family. I will always remember the weekends she spent with me at the beach in Galveston. We always had such fun! I am so saddened at the loss of her. May Tara rest in peace, and may the family, and all of us who loved her find peace also. God only chooses the best. And I know she is watching over us with December in her lap.

When Tara smiled or laughed she had a way of doing it with her whole body. She was beautiful and funny and I thought she was sooo cool! I was always so proud of my cousin the helicopter pilot. I will miss her and remember her always.
