Thomas Milton Benson, Jr. was born July 12, 1927 In New Orleans, LA. And lived 90 years. He died March 15th, 2018 in New Orleans, LA, after being in ICU at Oshners Medical Center for about a month. We loved him dearly! And he will be forever missed!
His public life has been shared many times over the years:
Navy during WWII
Bookkeeper in New Orleans at Chevrolet dealership Automobile dealer, of many franchises (57 at peak), mostly in San Antonio, TX and New Orleans, LA. Also in Kerrville, Del Rio, and Corpus Christi, TX. Banking in San Antonio, TX. Sports in New Orleans, LA: Saints, VooDoo, and Pelicans.

His private life was a grand adventure, with lots of love and laughter. He truly loved his family, especially all the children! Warmer weekends were for family gatherings by the pool, where he barbecued.
Summers spent on the family ranch were fun for all the visiting family and friends.
Road trips to meetings held much exploring of our national parks and monuments.
In his middle years he enjoyed traveling along the east coast in his yacht, with family and friends joining him. Weekends, holidays, and sports games, always included Catholic mass. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was loyal to his family, friends, and employees (as they were to him). However he made sure we each contributed, and carried our own weight. He was proud of each and every one of our accomplishments! He wished for everyone to work hard, and be successful in whatever they chose to do.

Tom Benson was a generous man to many charities, individuals, and especially to his immediate family. All of us are extremely grateful to him, and his foresight.

He could be harsh when he felt crossed or betrayed. Now he knows the truth, how very much we truly loved him!

Great grandson, Gunner LeBlanc. Granddaughter, Dawn Benson Jones, and husband, Christopher Jones. Great grandson, Seth Jones. Great grandson, Sawyer Jones. Great granddaughter, Sierra Jones. Sister-in-law, Charmaigne Benson. Brother-in-law, E. J. Landry. Step-daughter, Mimi Walker Peake, and husband Martin Peake. Step-daughter, Susan Walker. Step-son Rick Walker. Step-son, Don Walker. Third wife, Gayle LaJaunie Bird Benson (1947-, married 13 years) And many other much loved extended family and friends
