Thomas Maurer Obituary
Thomas Boone Maurer, age 83, went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on July 12, 1934 in San Antonio, TX to William & Allene Maurer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. Boone was an avid outdoors man and if he wasn't on the lake or at the ranch you could catch him on the golf course. Boone was known for being a tough man on the outside but past his rugged exterior he truly cared for his family, friends and especially his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his children, Kathryn Lea Maurer and Thomas Boone Maurer Jr. He is survived by wife, Donna; daughter, Karey and son-in-law Jimmy; his son, JD Littleton. Grandsons, Daniel, Steven his wife Ally, Glynn, his wife Gia - their kids Mac, Rose, Sam Wallace. Brother, Billy and his son William and his wife Marcie Maurer. Brother-in-law Bill; nephew, Howard and his wife Diane and nephew, Greg Gober. The Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., November 11, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family would like to thank the care team and staff at the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital for their loving care and compassionate hearts. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Samaritians Purse.

Donna, Donna Peg & I are shocked & grief torn with the sudden loss of Boone. A guy I spent a lot of my life with. Football in HS, golf in sr years. Our breavement has shaken us to the core. My darling friend I hurt for you immensley & pray God will assuage your emotions to ease you through this.

Donna and Karey,
We are sorry to hear about Boone and we apologize for not coming to the service. Boone was such a great man to my family and we will never forget him. I loved that he had a special bond to my dad especially with them having the beach house together and hunting. The picture posted on the obituary is exactly how I will always remember Mr. Maurer. He always had that friendly and slightly mischievous smile. I have so many happy memories of time spent at your house with Tommy and the rest of your family. We will be out of town on Saturday, but will be sending you, Karey, and the rest of the family all our love.

I was so sad to hear of Boone's passing. Our family has known you & your family before I was born & always considered Boone a very close and trusted friend. I know he could be a bit obstinate at times, but I always enjoyed our times together fishing & hunting or just sipping a cold one in the backyard. I will truly miss Boone and send my deepest sympathies to you and your whole family.
