Walter Rogers Obituary
September 11, 1945 - November 2, 2025
Dr. Walter Rogers, Ph.D. was born on August 11, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in the Chicago area, attended Wooster College in Ohio and earned his PhD in physiological psychology from the University of Iowa. After post-doc studies in California, he and the family settled in San Antonio in 1974, where he worked for 23 years at Southwest Research Institute. In addition, he spent several years as a university professor in Iowa and Texas. In his spare time, he loved to read, listen to music, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed good food, travel, spending time with family and friends, and was a doting grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda; their children, Heather (John) Beliveau and Eric (Xin Zhang) Rogers; and two granddaughters, Anna and Alexandra Beliveau. He is also survived by his sister Lyn (Tom) Black.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 14th, 2025 at Mission Park Dominion starting at 2:00 P.M. For further information, please visit www.missionparks.com
