Such a fine person. I was a young kid fresh out of college. If it weren't for Uncle Bill's kindness, mentoring, and professional assistance, I would never have realized my lifelong dream of becoming an Air Force pilot. From the moment I asked for his help, Uncle Bill stood by me with sound advice and encouragement. I'm forever grateful. May God bless you, sir!

I grew up with the Bailey Family, with Mr. Bailey being my first basketball coach. Spent many good times with the family and had many great conversations Mr. Bailey and received a lot of great advice from him. I am very proud to call him and all the Baileys my friends. My prayers go out to the Bailey Family.

Uncle Bill was more than just an uncle to me, more than just a relative I would see on some of the major holidays. I grew up without a grandfather, but was lucky enough to have Uncle Bill fill that role. He did way more than what is expected of "just an uncle." He taught me about tools, how to play pool, told me jokes, went to my baseball games, birthday parties and graduations. About 90% of all holidays were spent with he and Aunt Patti and those were the best times of my life. To this day I don't remember shaking his hand once; it was always a big hug, accompanied with, "Whataya say kiddo?" He was truly one of a kind and I can't express enough just how lucky I was to have him in my life. He will be forever in my heart, as I'm sure he'll be in so many others.

When we were little, we were told that Uncle Bill got his scar from a duel (or maybe that's just what I thought) ... it made him very dashing and distinguished ...

I remember Great Uncle Bill inviting me to his home when I was a young Lieutenant at Lackland for a training course. It was wonderful to be greeted by family so far from 'home' and get a wonderful meal! God Bless.

I met Bill about 10 years ago on a hunting lease in Bosque County, Texas. Bill was a gentleman in every respect. It was a real pleasure to have him as one of the old gang during hunting season. We kept in touch afterward by email. My sincerest sympathy for Patti and the family. May God bless the family of this fine man. Laus Deo

My best memories are always standing off to the side and listening in on the adult conversations at the holiday parties or summer picnics ... they were light and saucy and witty and Uncle Bill was always in the center of it all ... love to all his family.

I have been lucky enough to be close with the Bailey's from grade school through today and I have always had the utmost respect for Mr. Bailey. He always welcomed me with that great smile. Look up the meaning of an Officer and a Gentleman and you will find a picture of Mr. Bailey.

A funny and generous man, for the last 30 years Mr. Bailey has been at the center of my worn-out story about how I almost went to Texas A&M. The Truss family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.
