Born in New Orleans, Dan passed away peacefully in his home with his wife at his side.
Proudly serving In the US Navy and graduating with a science degree, Dan established Plant Dr. and wrote articles for the SA Light Newspaper addressing horticultural needs in the state. Bus driving and a love of children was his second passion.
Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 55 years of marriage, daughter, Tanya Sumlin, son, William Sumlin IV, three grandchildren, Treana Sosa, Isabella Sosa, Mekaella Actkinson, brothers, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Burial: Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery/Pavilion #4
