Yolanda Camarillo Obituary
Yolanda G. Camarillo passed away May 15, 2013. She was 84.
Yolanda was born on March 30, 1929 to Gilbert and Ernestina Cardenas Garza. Yolanda was formerly of Del Rio, Texas but spent most of her life in San Antonio, Texas. She was a cosmetologist for more than 40 years where she owned and operated Geisha Hair Fashions.
Survivors include a son, Carlos, Jr. (Belinda) Camarillo of Boerne, Texas; daughters Sylvia Camarillo and Rebecca (Robert) Romero both of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding Yolanda in death is her husband Carlos Camarillo, Sr. and her parents.
Visitation will begin Monday, May 20, 2013, 2:00 PM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 210 St. Ann Street in San Antonio, Texas. A holy rosary will be held prior to the funeral mass on Monday. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Jim Rutkowski at 5:30 PM. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 9:45 AM at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
Arrangements and care entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.

To Carlos, Becky, and Sylvia,
My deepest sympathy to you all, as well as your families. I will always cherish the memories that our families shared when we were children. Your mom was always such a gracious and kind woman. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

To my cousins,
Your mother was a pioneer in our Hispanic community and you should be very proud. She set the example and indirectly encouraged those of us of a younger generation who became entrepreneurs. By establishing her own business, first in Del Rio and then in San Antonio in the times that she did, was to defy all odds against her. She encouraged us all by her example. My God bless you in this time of sorrow. I will miss my "Tia Yolanda".

To the Camarillo Family-Becky, Sylvia and Carlos: I've known you all since we went to St. Ann's then Edison H.S. (although we've been distant for over 35 years). I want to tell you how sorry that I am to hear about your Mother's Passing. She was a wonderful woman that at times, had to scold me from time to time when I needed it while at your house...lol. I remembered that she also did my hair when we graduated from 8th Grade at St. Ann's.
My prayers go out to you and the family at this difficult time. God Bless you all.

I had the great pleasure of working with your Father, Carlos at DMA; a great man. It was so obvious how much he loved his wife and family. They are now together again and will both be missed.
