Yukiko McManus Obituary
Yukiko Nakano McManus passed away at home on March 29, 2012 at the age of 84. She was born in Hagi City, Japan; the fourth of five children to Mansaku and Sana Nakano. In post-war Tokyo, she met and married the love of her life Louis McManus (USAF). They had three children and moved to San Antonio when he was medically disabled. Widowed at the age of 43, she raised three young children and made America her home. She proudly became a US citizen. Her quiet dignity, fighting spirit, and her strength of character will be missed by her adoring family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis. She is survived by her sisters Tami Bice of Beaverton, Oregon, and Yasuko Nakano of Japan; niece Michiko Nakano of Japan; son Lt. George McManus, daughters Tami McManus and Dr. Keiko McManus and husband Dr. Richard Palmer; grandchildren Laura and Colby McManus, Jaclyn and Kristofer Palmer; great-grandchild Nathan McManus. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Disabled American Veterans.
Services
A Memorial Service will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North on Saturday April 7, 2012 at 3 P.M., visitation at 2 P.M. Interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M.. You may sign the on-line guest book at www.missionparks.com under the obituary section.
