Albert Stebel Obituary

STEBEL, ALBERT MICHAEL July 18, 1931 to February 3, 2005 Albert left his homeland of Germany in 1960 to pursue his dreams in America. A skilled auto mechanic with his Master's Degree, and astute business man, Al turned down offers to open large German auto dealerships in favor of owning and operating his own business. He opened his first shop, "Al's Garage", in Columbus, Ohio. Furthering his American dream, Al moved to sunny, Southern California and opened Autohaus Stebel. Al cared very much about his customers and their cars. His dedication to excellence and his honest, caring customer service were a reflection of his inner spirit. His passion for Mercedes was ever present. Al enjoyed tremendous success during his 25 years of owning and operating Autohaus. Al really enjoyed the San Diego weather and lifestyle. An avid sports fan, he found particular enjoyment watching the 10-year championship runs of the San Diego Sockers, and the playoff runs of the Padres. He was a kind, generous, loving father. Dad, we love and miss you very much. Albert is survived by his three children, Susette, Bryan and Dieter, and his five loving grandchildren. Please join us March 12, 2005 as we celebrate Al's life at the German American Society at 1017 S. Mollison, El Cajon, Ca 92020, from 3-6 p.m. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com
