I just heard about Charlene's passing. I was just a kid when I met them at Linda Vista Church of Christ. They hosted my first baby shower when Cathie was born (she just turned 48 the other day). I have many fond memories of both of them. I'll never forget her beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor and the twinkle in her eye when she said something funny. My love goes out to the girls and their families. It's hard to lose such a gem. I'm sure she and Bud are looking down happy and smiling. Their jobs on earth well done. Take care of yourselves. Love from Maisie too.

Memories - pies too wonderful to explain, hot yeast rolls, chocolate chip cookies, walking at the bay, "God loves a cheerful winner", road trips, Hawaii, scrabble and more scrabble, heartache when Bud died, teacher's training class, Old and New Testament Survey class, daily Bible reading, prayer warrior, wonderful Christian advice, always steadfast, warm fellowship, hospitality, padres and spring training, See's candy, Baskin Robbins, "moving over", "when the food's gone, they'll quit eating", belly acher, close friends, laughter and most of all love for God, Bud and her girls and her Christian family.

Joyful Joyful is all that I can say. She is finally where she has longed to be for 13 years. How lucky for Gerry and Janice to have had such a strong mother in the word. Her faith never wavered and her love of God was always. Thank you both for sharing her with so many. San Diego

Charlene was my truly one of the most important people in my life. She was sure that those she loved could do and be anything they chose...she was an unrelenting encourager and she shared herself to help if at all possible. Oh, if only those of us she loved could have her steel, determined and unwavering will and faith.
What a very special friend to all of us she was. I will carry her in my heart forever. Thank you, Gerry and Janice, for also being the same kind of faithful and loving friends to all of us.
May God bless you with the happiest of memories as you face the loss of your dear mom.
Charlie and I love you.

Charlene encouraged us to be sound in Christ's doctrine and Bud influenced us to be charitable in our attitude toward other Christians. Many friends always asked about Charlene, they too are saddened by our loss. Charlene will live on in the hearts of many for generations to come. May God bless us in our endeavors.

We will always have a big empty place in our hearts for Charlene & Bud. They have had a major and positive impact on our lives and we love them as if they were our own parents as well as dear friends. We know that Charlene is in a very happy place now and we are glad for her but sad for us.

Gerry, Janice & families - my heart and prayers are with you at this sad time. Charlene was a very special person whose life was lived helping and teaching others as she lived and worked along side your dad. She was also a very special aunt to those of us in the family. I will treasure fond memories of her.
