Clayton Leo Comstock

Clayton passed away at his home in Oceanside on March 18th, 2023, from congestive heart failure. Clayton was born in San Diego, California, the eldest of three children to John and Twila Comstock. He is survived by his children, Stacey Comstock and Daniel Comstock; his grandson, Jacob Comstock; his siblings, Alan Comstock and Susan Wood; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Bennet, Lyndsay Vockrodt, Jason Wood, and Ryan Wood. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Susan Comstock, and his nephew Nathan Comstock.
Clayton grew up in Santee, attending Santana High School.
He made Oceanside his home with his wife and young daughter in 1987, with his son born in Oceanside a year later. He worked as a custom cabinetmaker, a roofer, and for a majority of his career, a custom exhibit builder and painter, retiring from Freeman in 2020.
Clayton was an easygoing and fun person to be around who loved his children and adored his grandson. His friends, family, and associates described him as kind, funny, and a diehard Padres and Charges fan. Clayton enjoyed the outdoors, especially watching Daniel surf the San Diego coastline, sitting out on Stacey's deck in Fallbrook, and visiting Yosemite National Park with his family over many wonderful years.
Clayton's memorial and celebration of life will be held on July 9th, 2023, at Oceanside Harbor.
