I had many trials as a new deputy district attorney in front of Judge Meloche. He was an excellent jurist and cared deeply for public safety and victims. In my 36 year career, he was the best judge for trial I ever appeared in front of. Rest in peace Sir!

Don touched our lives in so many ways. He represented both my mom and dad. My sister Jan worked for him and he performed her son Jason´s wedding ceremony. Sister Jeri also worked for him and he married Jeri and John in the sky above Viejas on 4th of July! We were on a trip to South of France with Don and Char and my in laws and his brother and wife and Jeri and John Hickman.
My picture of Don is a sunny day at the beach when he was 85 and boogie boarding with us! He lived life to the fullest and in the company of his loving wife Char and children and extended family and friends. Missed but not forgotten. Jackie and Bob Metcalf.

While I am sorry to hear of Don´s passing, I am sure that he and Dad have a lot of catching up to do. Their long friendship was an inspiration, as they may not have always seen eye-to-eye, yet their mutual love and concern never wavered.
My family and I send our sincere condolences on your loss.

As a young deputy district attorney, I had the opportunity to meet and try cases against Don Meloche. He was the consumate trial attorney - both very skilled and professional. As a young lawyer, he sort of guided me around the courtroom.
I was later appointed to the bench in 1990, after Don had been appointed. He welcomed me like an old friend and served as a mentor. He was just a wonderful person and friend. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family. Judge Harry Elias

How blessed I was to have been able to work with and know Judge Don Meloche. Every single day was such a pleasure and privilege.
I will miss him, so much. I know he´s smiling down upon us all.
To his loving family, every single one of you are in my prayers. May you all have peace in your heart, and may your sadness be replaced with warm, loving memories. He loved you all so very much.
With love,
