Eric Wright Obituary

WRIGHT, Jr., ERIC L.
Eric L. Wright, Jr. (Butch to his family) died peacefully in his sleep on January 11, 2008, just days after his 59th birthday. Eric didn't live the perfect life - he lived life perfectly, making every day an adventure. Eric was a 1967 graduate of Exeter Union High School, Exeter, CA, where he was student body president his senior year. The following year he followed the tradition of both his parents and enlisted in the Marine Corps. Eric served as a member of the 3rd Recon Battalion in Vietnam from August 1968 and July 1969. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and Purple Heart among other awards. Service in the Marine Corps was followed by several years as a member of Alameda County Sheriffs' Department and many more years of adventure as he followed his own path. Eric returned to the San Diego area in 2005 and settled in Santee. His family and friends agree that life was always more fun and interesting when Eric was around. He was a gifted story- teller who left everyone to wonder what was fact and what was fiction. Eric was predeceased by his father Eric L. Wright, Sr. Eric is survived by his wife, Ginger; his mother, Georgia Wright; his sister, Jo Ann Wright; and three grown children from previous marriages, Curtis Brogie, Brandy Brogie and Heather Wright. On Saturday, January 19th Eric's ashes will be scattered off the coast of San Diego, where he spent many happy hours in his kayak. Semper Fi. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com
