G. Nagengast Obituary

NAGENGAST, G. ANGELA G. Angela Nagengasr, 59, beloved, wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher and friendpassed away at home with her loving family at her side on July 25, 2005. Mrs. Nagengast moved to Alamogordo in 2003 from Great Falls, Montana. Born in Berlin, Germany on May 19, 1946, she grew up in Berlin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Glasgow, Montana and Riverside, California. Mrs. Nagengast attended the College of Great Falls and double majored, receiving bar Bachelors of Arts in English and in German. She married Richard A. Nagengast in 1969, then settled in GreatFalls and began her career and passion for teaching. Mrs. Nagengast taught English and German at secondary schools in Great Fails for 34years, positively influencing the lives of thousands of students. During this time she received a Masters of Arts in German Language and Literature from the University of Montana and a Masters of Science in Education from Montana State University - Northern. She also taught at the College of Great Falls for several years. Mrs. Nagengast joined the Alamogordo High School faculty in 2003 to teach German. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard A. Nagengast; her parents Lt. Col. USAF, (retired) Ellis A. and Ilse E. McLean; sister and brother-in-law Emmi A. McLean and William H. Cheney; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine N., and Jason W. Pentz; son, Andrew R. Nagengast and grandson Jordan Pentz. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home. Chaplain Bill Perry, Captain, USN, (retired) will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the G. Angela Nagengast Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the American Cancer Society. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

Angie Nagengast was such an impressive person. Smart, kind, funny and irreverent. She and Richard have a special place in my heart. I was blessed to know them.
