Gary Saylor was my leading Petty Officer day in the Supply Department of USS Southerland DD743. We Deployed to Vietnam Twice in our time together. He was a faithful sailor and he became my friend. When we were in port San Deigo he would often invite me to go to church with he and his family and later have lunch or dinner together. I am proud to say he was my friend and I miss him.

May you all find peace in that Your Dad is in a much better place now and with your Mom.... I will always remember his smile, his laughter and what a great Dancer he was...

I am so sorry to read of Gary's passing. I am thankful that I knew him through Scouting. He taught my son a great deal about cooking! In fact, my son, Michael, does all of the cooking for his family now. Gary was always giving and kind and a good friend to my husband, Gary Keller. We lost my Gary three years ago. My prayers and love are with you, Melanie, Cindy and Brad.
