Dear Betty and family,

Upon returning home from a holiday cruise I was saddened to learn of Dr.

Vlahos' passing. What a unique and accomplished individual he was, and I was privileged to have him as my therapist many years ago.

Betty ,my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Affectionately,

I cannot possibly describe the enormous impact Fr. George Vlahos had on my life. Through his sermons he provided a guide to what my purpose in life is and who I am. My spirituality and outlook on life changed following an Ascension church retreat at Asilomar CA where monk-like silence periods prevailed and we were encourged to read and contemplate biblical passages. I vividly recall the overwhelming, inspiring, experience of reading the Sermon on the Mount amongst the Asilormar sand dunes and Fr. George's lectures. I came away from Asilomar a changed person with a rational Christian purpose and zeal.
