Herbert Nagler

NAGLER, HERBERT Herbert Nagler, born in Brooklyn, New York on June 3, 1919, and a resident of La Jolla since 1973, died in Encinitas on September 23, 2007. A Professional Engineer specializing in welding research metallurgy, Mr. Nagler worked for the Department of the Navy for 32 years before joining Rohr Industries in 1973. He was especially proud of being in charge of the team whose research on Titanium allowed the Navy to build the first Titanium Alvin Mini submarine at Mare Island Naval Station in 1973. Mr. Nagler served in the Navy in World War II. His survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Florence of La Jolla; his sons Jeffrey and Stephen and his daughters Eleanor Nagler and Patricia Abramowitz as well as three grandchildren, Jason and Rachel Nagler and Robert Abramowitz.
