I just watched this case on tv in Canada and greatly admire and respect the work that Holly put into it. And to have it resolved after 25 years!
She seemed like an amazing person
What courage to fight her own battles with this disease and yet never give up.
I lost my mother to cancer, and her calm strength and resolve remind me of her. RIP Holly, the world needs more people like you.

I never knew Holly.This amazing woman was on a programme in England about how she solved a case despite fighting cancer. My own daughter had been diagnosed as terminal at the same time. I cannot explain this, but hearing Holly gave me a strength to deal with this. I have planted a tree in Holly's memory in my garden in Yorkshire, England in Hollys memory. What would Holly think to her energy reaching out to folk in Yorkshire? It will always be called the Holly tree in our family. My daughter is still plodding on and enjoying life...

I just saw the story of how she came back and worked as a volunteer detective to help solve a horrific crime on an elderly woman on Trace of the evil.
I hope to meet her when I get heaven and tell her how proud she made me feel as a woman.
Just amazing! May God bless her loved ones.

I think I met Holly as an officer in Central Div early 90s. Good cop, very nice girl, it was a pleasure knowing her. She fought like hell and now in peace.

I remember how she fought to stay alive for her son. She was remarkably tough and knew the importance of living each day to its fullest. She was a greatly loved and admired friend!

Really really sorry to hear about the sad passing of Holly I watch forensic programs over here in the UK and she was on it involved in a big case of the tape of an 84 year old lady.holly came out of retirement just to help with the case which she did bigtiime what an amazing person RIP HOLLY ANN ERWIN XXX

I just watched the cold case on TV and was listening to Holly who was determined to solve this case she came across as a genuine lovely lady so I thought I would look her up only to realise she had died which is so sad condolences to her family and friends.

I just watched Holly on CBS Reality here in UK and saw her help to complete a long unsolved crime from 1992. What an incredible dedicated lady. I've visited San Diego myself in 1989 and 1991.

I live in the UK, and have just watched a programme that Holly was in, what an amazing lady , to bring closure to that poor family after all those years, whilst fighting her own battle !

I found myself thinking about Holly today and it brought a smile to my face. What a true warrior she was. She taught us how to live and how to die. I will always treasure the time we spent together and the life lessons she taught me. Her stories she told always makes me laugh. I miss her. She was truly an inspiration to many and that was her wish. To make a difference in someone's life. I know she did in mine. Until we meet again lady.

I worked with Holly in the early 90s while patrolling Central Division, she was always a happy go lucky Officer, always fun to be around a very nice person. she fought a long fight and will be missed. Another warrior in heaven to look upon us all.

I didn't know Holly. I was told about her several years ago on the 3-day breast cancer walk by her co-workers. They gave me a bracelet . Each year I would ask the police on the walk how Holly was doing so it saddens me to see her obit. Alot of people were pulling for her. She touched my life and I never met her. Carry her heart in your heart forever.

Its what she spent the last 8 years fighting and doing her best to instill in us.
She was so much to so many people. She always put being Alexs mom first. But on top of that she was a fiercely loyal friend, a remarkable police officer/detective and someone who dedicated so much of her precious time to people in need.
During her battle with cancer she volunteered her time to a cold case, which she solved (of course)and brought a family answers and justice after so many years! She was an advocate and mentor for children who had fallen on hard times. She donated to so many causes but none of us will ever know to what extent because she was humble and gave from her heart, not for praise.
Holly was the one who rallied up the troops and planned the wine bus, the dinners the vacations....and we cant forget, The Scrpbook Parties. We were baseball moms and token softball players.
Some of my best memories include Holly and through the tears, theres a lot of laughs when I think of the stupid stuff we use to do. She was a wonderful friend and she will be missed by so many.

Holly was our next door neighbor on Brian Way for years. I saw her soon after being diagnosed, and she was so strong and committed to giving Alex the best years of her remaining life. Rest in Peace, Holly.
