Mr. Honea was an awesome 6th grade teacher for me in 1969/70. I have many fond memories of him and his teaching style. He is always at the forefront in my memories of my elementary school years.

My dearest condolences to the Honea family. Mr Honea was my 6th grade teacher in 1976 at Anza. I was made aware of his passing through a classmate Julie Gilliam- Schneider. Mr. Honea was a pivotal person in my life not only through the way he taught class, but by his teaching through his wonderful charector. He gave me an extra boost of confidence which shifted my attitude towards school, others and myself. I will always be grateful to him.

Huey was my master teacher in 1971 at Rios Elementary School. He was a gentle spirit and a welcoming and comforting person to me as a new teacher in the school district. He helped me in every way he could with humor and grace. We'd see each other over the years and he always remained a caring, loving person. I will miss his wry sense of humor and genuine caring for others. He always spoke so lovingly of his wife and children.

Huey and I were classmates at Arizona State College in the late fifties and early sixties. Both of us had elementary school training there. Lots of good memories.

I heard from Pat Linn of the passing away of mr. Honea. I am deeply saddened by the news. Even though I only had a short friendship with mr. Honea, he has impressed me as a wonderful teacher who is dedicated and devoted to his career. Many will miss him here on this earth.
My best regards to the Honea family.

I would like to send my condolences to the Honea family. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Honea's passing. He was my 6th grade teacher at Anza back in 1976 and had a tremendous impact on me and all my fellow classmates. I had recently sent him a message online to thank him for being such a great teacher. Unfortunately, I don't think he had a chance to read it. Please know that he was a wonderful man and an amazing teacher, loved by his students and will be greatly missed. Thank you for sharing him with all of us.

Mr. Honea was an amazing teacher. He not only taught the basics, but more importantly, he taught me life skills. When I think about my 6th grade year with Mr. Honea, he gave me a lifetime of memories. God Bless Mr. Honea and his family

I am saddened to learn of Huey's passing. He and I were occasional workout buddies at Frog's in Rancho San Diego. We would always exchange a fake sarcastic greeting when we met. Thereafter we gave each other good workout advice and often chatted about jobs, families and the state of world affairs. We laughed often together. Huey was a true gentleman and was surely a leader in his life's work as a teacher. I shall always remember him as a very special friend.

I would like to express my condolences to Huey's family. I taught 6th Grade with Huey at Anza School for several years. He was a good friend and fun to work with. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. I will miss him very much.
