Jacob Propsner Obituary

Propsner, Jacob Paul SAN DIEGO -- Jacob Paul Propsner of San Diego, CA died on February 9, 2014. He was born to Jacob Propsner and Margaret Robinson on June 6, 1922. He grew up in New Hope, Pa. and was educated at Solebury School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French education and obtained his private pilot's license. He last flew on his 90th birthday. In Jan. 1941, he enlisted in the USN. During his career, he was an Aerial Gunner, a Machinist mate, a Link Trainer operator during WW2, and flight crewmember. He retired as a Master Chief in 1973 after serving 32 years and through three wars. After military retirement, he started a new career as a school teacher. His hobbies included painting, gardening and telling sea stories. Jacob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Violet. Jacob is survived by his sons Roy and William of New Mexico, Larry of California; daughters-in-law Michelle and Anne of New Mexico, and Carolyn of California; daughter Cindy of New Mexico; grandchildren Mark, Kimberly, Marissa, Jon, and Adam; and great-grandson, Jaret. A memorial service is set for March 7. A special thanks to Silverado Hospice.
