My memory of Jimmy is that he was a great friend to my Mom and Dad. Jimmy and my Dad Emil worked together on projects building cabinets for my folk's variety store in Solana Beach. What I remember was two guys working together cracking jokes and having a good time with the task at hand. One particular instance my Dad always commented on was an evening out with Jimmy and Betty for dinner together. I believe that Top Sirloin was the guy's choice. The restaurant was out of it and the server came back to let them know. She said they could substitute prime rib. Jimmy's quick witted reply was “We'll suffer.” That was always something my Dad cracked up about. Jimmy was always a great friend to my family and a true craftsman. Jimmy and Betty were at my Mom Carol's funeral three years ago. I still have some of those cabinets that Dad and Jimmy built back in the sixties in my garage still holding their weight, the same original finish looking good. It's a shame we have to lose the kind of people that took real pride in their work and did things right.

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Jim, from his music, to his skills as a carpenter, to his great sense of humor, and his love of family. May the peace of God give comfort to Fred, Roger, and Charles.

Uncle Jimmy,
You were ALWAYS so sweet to me . . . I remember and always will. May all of your family's grief be quickly replaced with wonderful memories. I know you are in a far better place with Dad collecting Stuff and remembering your childhood in Encinitas. I love you. Louise
