Jan Kraayeveld

KRAAYEVELD, JAN Nov. 2, 1949 to Jan. 5, 2007 Jan Kraayeveld, 57, of Aspen, Colorado, died peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2007. He was born in Santa Monica, California, and was of Dutch ancestry. He lived in Manhattan Beach then moved to Aspen Colorado where he owned and operated the Village Pantry Restaurant for twelve years. He moved to the Cardiff area for twelve years where he worked in the construction business. He then moved back to Aspen for the last eleven years. He loved to travel. His favorite places were Arizona, the Netherlands, all of Europe and of course his favorite, Baja, Mexico. His favorite pastimes were surfing, deep-sea fishing and snow skiing. He is survived by his cousin in the Netherlands, Hessel Bethmers, his long time love Nancy Zirbel and many, many friends. There is so much more that all of us feel for Jan, and we will miss him tremendously. He was truly unique and all of us have favorite stories of his strange and wonderful way of living life.
