Jerry always tried to be kind and helpful to me, sharing his home and hobbies. We shared some heartaches in life as well. May he rest in peace.

I met Jerry about 2 1/2 years ago when I became a volunteer at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park.
Jerry was obviously very smart and had an interesting past. We shared our interest in WWII history. It wasn´t long before Jerry gave me an authentic Japanese bayonet which I have restored.
Jerry would bring in treats to share but more interesting was he would bring in military articles and photographs from books and magazines we enjoyed at the restoration shop in the museum basement.
Several times he would share his adventures with us including doing charity work south of the border.
I didn´t have a lot of time with him but he was a person that made an impact on my life.

Jerry was a longtime friend as we went to Tecate to do free eye surgeries and other eye work. Whenever we were both staying overnight we were roomies. I always said he was like Cliff on Cheers. He always had facts about things that only a few people in the world would know. He was a great volunteer in our clinic and will be sorely missed. Pat Griffith
