JIM KRUEGER

KRUEGER, JIM September 14, 1923 to January 27, 2013 Born in Long Beach, CA, in 1923 at St. Mary's Hospital (the year it opened). At Jordan High School, Class of '41, he lettered in football, basketball and track. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII with the 87th Sea Bees, and also served in Korea. A Long Beach firefighter for 24 years, he retired in 1977 and moved to Carlsbad, CA. He loved golf, fishing and BSing; loved everyone and a friend to all. The people he loved and the hearts he touched will always remember how he loved to make everyone laugh with his stories and jokes. Always signing off with "see ya later pal". He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, April; son, Rick Krueger; daughters, Darlene Krueger Fohring and Kathleen Krueger; and his cousins in Denver and nephew in Fresno, who he loved dearly. Rosary: Monday, February 4, at 2:30 p.m. at EI Camino Memorial Encinitas Chapel, 340 Melrose Ave., Encinitas, CA 92024. Fr. Patrick Mulcahy will officiate at the Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, February 5, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1001 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Krueger's name to either Scripps Health Foundation - Cardiology in La Jolla or the Salvation Army. The family is eternally grateful and would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Scripps Green Hospital and Clinic for their loving care and devotion to his health.
