We lost touch, regrettably, but I am nonetheless deeply saddened by Joan's passing. I remember her for many things, not the least her kindness to strangers and her radiant disposition.

It's rare to meet someone as genuine, caring and positive as Joan. She inspired me and I'll remember her always!

Working as Joan's dental assistant were my best years of assisting ever. Joan made me feel very important, so important that she gave me the confidence to develop a continuing education program to teach other assistants how to make provisional crowns. Joan was always "one of the girls". She never made any of us feel less of ourselves. I will truly miss her laughter, her generosity, her uplifting support and unending friendship. Forever when I see purple I will think fondly and memorably of the remarkable woman that was Joan.

Joan sponsored my son's soccer team for many years when Eric was a young boy. She had a great spirit and always behaved as if the glass was half full, really. I've watched from a distance these past few years as she bravely fought for life. Joan really is inspirational. Anne Fontanesi
