Joe Carl Ham

On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Joe Ham passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He was born in San Diego to Charles and Kathleen Ham and was a lifelong San Diego resident.
Joe attended Crawford High School. He spent his career working for Brady Company for over 40 years.
Joe was a devoted son to his parents, a caring and protective brother to his sister Charlene and brother Chuck, a loving husband to his wife Elena, a proud father to his son Michael, a nurturing grandfather to his four grandchildren, and a loyal friend. Family was everything to him, and his son and grandchildren were the light of his life. He lit up every time he was around them.
The beach and mountains were his happy place, and he would often ride his bike along the boardwalk from South Mission Beach to Windansea after he retired. He loved being outdoors in the sunshine and also enjoyed hiking. Joe was quite the dog and animal lover.
He always looked forward to watching his son play Over The Line (OTL) at the beach, a sport he enjoyed playing himself for many years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathleen Ham, and his sister Charlene White.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Elena; his brother Chuck (Susan) Ham; his son Michael (Michelle) Ham; his stepdaughter Katia Bayless, stepson Yaroslav Shishenin; his grandchildren Natalie, Joseph, Emma, and Claire, and his niece whom was much more like a sister to him, Sherral (Bob) Bearss.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, February 13, 2023, at 4:00pm at Calvary Chapel, 7525 El Cajon Blvd., La Mesa, CA.
