I am so thankful John had so many wonderful friends come to celebrate him. I had a detached retina surgery and could not attend because I am unable to change elevations. I was so sad I couldn´t be there as John and I were so close. After seeing the pictures I see I was there as somebody enlarged the picture I submitted. I literally cried, this meant so much to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My heart is broken. It was way too soon to lose my brother. John was the most loving and caring brother and true friend to all. He had many sides to him but most of all he loved with his whole heart. He had all the connections and knew how to make the best deals. These two photos were the last ones taken on June 10th. We celebrated our wedding anniversaries together at Tom Ham's Lighthouse. I will treasure that day forever. I look forward to seeing you all on the 16th and hearing the stories of how you knew him. Please continue to keep his wife Mary and daughter Jennifer in your prayers. We lost our mom less then a year ago, so now they are together again. Love you bro!

John is a great friend! I can’t stop thinking about him daily! Gone too soon. I know Mary and Jennifer are missing him daily and holding each other for strength as hundreds of his friends. I simply can’t believe my great friend is gone!
John has many friends at Sardinas and of course all over San Diego that love his laugh, energy, knowledge, leadership, friendship, and kindness. John was sincerely like a big brother to me, and I admired his commitment to his wife and daughter.
I will see you again.

I worked for John for 11 years . He was a Great man. He treated everyone with integrity and patience. I looked to him like a father figure. My Dad and my sister would always stop by the store just to have a chat with him . He was a very smart man. So many times he would give me directions without ever being at a place and he would always get me to the front door. His knowledge in Auto Parts far surpasses anyone I know. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts , prayers and condolences go to his beautiful wife Mary and also his beautiful daughter Jennifer. Sincerely, Mary May

John hired me as a driver at Parts Plus El Cajon on September 7th, 1995. I worked with him until 2013. I was a driver, stock clerk and counter person. He gave me the nickname "Squeek" from a favorite movie. He taught me a lot about Auto Parts and a lot about people! I would like to think he was an inspiration to pass along that knowledge...He shall be sorely missed!

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Johns Family.
I worked at the El Cajon Parts Plus for several years with John. I remember driving into work every morning and seeing his truck parked in the lot not knowing it was his and not knowing if it even ran because it was always there... the first day i started i asked why there was a broken down truck in the lot....later to find out that truck was loved more than most love their pets and John was always at that parts store hence why that truck was always there! He was truly a good boss and friend! To him I was HJ Double T(Heavy Jumbo That Thang) a nickname he had for me as i was always a bit on the heavier side. I regret not keeping in contact with him after the demise of Parts Plus. I learned a lot from him and I am grateful as his advice, and the example he set when I was working with him has helped me tremendously in my career at the School district. Rest easy old friend, I will miss you dearly.
