Kevin Sutter Obituary
July 16, 1992 - April 25, 2021
San Diego
Kevin passed away unexpectedly while hospitalized for intractable epilepsy (uncontrolled seizures), a condition that developed with no known cause at age three, and despite years of medications, surgeries, and numerous treatments, ultimately claimed his life.
While we are devastated beyond words by his death, we rest in the assurance of his presence with Our Lord and we look forward to the day we will meet him again: whole, complete, and free!
Kevin is predeceased by his four grandparents: Billy and Miriam Sutter, Robert and Cecelia Biehl as well as aunts Debbie van Ravesteyn and Mari (Biehl) Wells.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Dean and Rosemary (Biehl) Sutter and his younger brother, Kyle Sutter SDFD/PM. Kevin is also survived by his uncles: Scott Sutter (Debbie) and Adrian van Ravesteyn (Jamie), Bob, Chris, and Jon Biehl, 11 cousins, and many extended family members too numerous to name.
We wish to sincerely thank the staff of UCSD: The SICU and Neuro Intensive Care team, the Neurology and EEG Departments, and the entire Emergency Department staff who so professionally and lovingly cared for Kevin over the past 25 years.
We are also eternally grateful to the staff at Hidden Valley Ranch Rehabilitation for their compassionate, loving care of Kevin for over nine years.
We also wish to thank our friends and family for their love, support, prayers, food, and flowers.
There are no services planned at this time.
Donations may be made in Kevin's name to the Epilepsy Foundation .

I was a speech/language pathologist who did Kevin's three year reviews for many years and sat on the non-public team who worked with his parents to provide the special services that Kevin needed. We all loved Kevin and thought so very highly of his dedicated family. As a parent, I agonized over Kevin's well-being as did all of my colleagues in those years. We know that Kevin enjoyed his work outdoors and was in the best placement when he succumbed to the seizures that he endured throughout his school years. May he rest in peace.....
