Luz Ramos Obituary

Luz Ramos, cherished sister, aunt and godmother went to heaven on April 26, 2023. She was deeply loved.
Born on February 18,1953 at Naval Hospital in San Diego, Lucy was the second child for Antonia and Angel Ramos. Her big sister is Lupe Chavez, and following Lucy were Miguel Angel "Michael" Ramos, Juan Raul "Johnny" Ramos, and Lydia "Lillie"(Ramos) Sapien.
Lucy was industrious and demonstrated a "Can Do Attitude" in all things. She was a fierce advocate for social justice. She was employed in San Diego and later Long Beach by the Navy.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to her care team at MD Anderson Scripps, and the Advanced Illness Care team at Scripps Hillcrest. We take comfort that she now rests in heaven and in peace with her mother Antonia Ramos, and with her compadre and brother-in-law Alex Sapien.
Lucy is survived by her sisters Lupe Chavez and Lydia Sapien, her brothers Michael Ramos and John Ramos, brother-in-law Julius Chavez and sister-in-law Jeanette Ramos and numerous nieces and nephews. Beloved Uncle (Tio) Ramon Licon and dearest (Tia Lola) Dolores Acosta and numerous cousins.
Services: May 7 viewing 4-8 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass: May 8 at 10 a.m., Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Barrio Logan. Interment at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, CA.
Lucy's charities are the Lymphoma Society and Catholic Charities in San Diego CA for the homeless.
