Marina Ranglas Obituary

RANGLAS, MARINA Marina Ranglas was born on February 28, 1927 in Athens, Greece. She passed away peacefully in El Cajon on October 19, 2007, of pancreatic cancer. Marina moved to San Diego from Greece in 1954 with her husband and young son. She was a Lakeside and El Cajon resident for the last 59 years. Marina loved and cared very deeply for her family and friends and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerry and Jeannie Ranglas of Rancho Santa Fe, California, and grandmother of their two children, Athan and Alexis. Marina lived with her niece, Evelyn Famelis, for the past twenty years and with Evelyn's daughters, Angela and Georgia. She is also survived by three sisters, one sister living in El Cajon, Elaine Frankos, and the other two sisters in Athens, Greece, Frantzeska Zora and Katina Samakovlis. Of her nephews and nieces living in San Diego County she is survived by Elizabeth Famelis and Nick and Jerry Frankos. Of her nephews and nieces living in Athens, Greece she is survived by Stelios and Mike Koumaras, Chyrssa Zora and Elsa Milionis. A Trisagion service will be held on October 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Saints Contstantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 3459 Manchester Ave., Cardiff by the Sea, California. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego, California. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in the memory of Marina Ranglas to Kids 'n' Cancer, a Philoptochos Ministry, 245 Valencia Street, San Francisco, California, 94103 or Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 3459 Manchester Ave., Cardiff by the Sea, California, 92007.
