Mary Sue Tomlinson, 80, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with COPD.
She was born on July 20, 1938, in Bristol, Virginia to C.L. and Louise Emmert. Mary Sue graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader her senior year.
In 1958, she married the love of her life, Roger Tomlinson. They lived in Arizona while Roger attended ASU, moved to San Diego and lived there for 35 years before retiring to St. George in 2005. While in San Diego, she worked for the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
An avid sports fan, Mary Sue enjoyed cheering on the Padres, Chargers, and ASU Sun Devils, but she really enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play on various sports teams. In the early 1970s, she was on the board of the Luckie Waller Little League. Some of her recent hobbies included golfing and playing cards and bingo. Her quick wit and wonderful smile were a delight to all that knew her.
Mary Sue is survived by her husband of 60 years (Roger), two brothers (Richard and David Emmert); four children: Michael Tomlinson, Bruce (Dianna) Tomlinson, Gary (Jennifer) Tomlinson, and Stacey (Steve) Higgins; five grandchildren: Shannon (David) Consalvo, Stephanie and Scott Higgins, and Trevor and Austin Tomlinson; one great grandson (Vincent); and several nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was very proud of all of her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association. A celebration of Mary Sue's life will be held in February.

So sorry to hear I am Jean Torpey daughter who was Eva Roberts daughter who was Willie and Mae stepmother I know Mary Sue worked on family history that we were working on also Louise . Jean died in July 2015 at 96 would someone with the family contact me [email protected]
