Michael Blevins Obituary
With the heaviest of heart, we wish to announce that on Saturday, December 3, 2022, Michael Thomas Blevins, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 73. Mike passed peacefully away in the care of hospice, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for 16 months.
Mike spent most of his life in San Diego, graduated from SDSU, and went on to get his Masters. He started his own Tax Practice as an Enrolled Agent and maintained a large practice for 30 years of loyal clients who became part of his extended family. He had a remarkable ability to connect with all various types of people.
Music was an integral passion for Mike. He was the drummer for several local bands, playing at parties and bars, especially at Carlee's in Borrego Springs. He loved that gig! Mike also was a La Jolla Shores surfer and had numerous friends at the beach. He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis. But what Mike loved the most is his wonderful son Mitchell. Mitchell is his pride and joy, and he always enjoyed having Mitchell's friends at his house. Mike was universally loved and respected and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara Lotwis, son, Mitchell Blevins and Nancy Blevins.
Due to the extremely large number of Mike's friends, his Celebration of Life will have to be a private event.

Oh Mike. I´m so sorry I didn´t know. My son Shane passed away so I texted you but the answer wasn´t from the text. I will miss you. You are my only cousin left. My heart and prayers go out to your son. You were the awesome one who I always admired and even had a crush on you when I was young. Oh Mile is my cousin isn´t he just hot! I´m glad Bobby and I came out to see you for Sally funeral. I got to connect with you again. You will be missed by many but Shane is up there with you now. Watch him laugh and smile. You two would have got along great. This has been the worst year I could have ever imagined. Help my son tell him I will be with him soon but not to soon. I have my daughter and Shane´s great grand kids to watch grow up and then I will see both of you for eternity. I love you so much. I hope you didn´t suffer too much. You touched my heart many times tell everyone hello my mom and dad and your mind and dad and my brother Ricky and Sally and Patrick. Love you for eternity!

Barbara and Mitchell, we are so sorry for your loss! Mike was a great guy, and like my siblings have been saying, he actually made taxes pleasant! He was our family's accountant for decades! We all had a great time at his big birthday party watching him play in the band at O'Connell's. The last time I was in his office I commented on a photo of him in a speedo. He looked over and said, "OMG! What the hell?" A friend had pulled a prank and put the photo of him in one of his frames! He hadn't noticed it until I mentioned it to him. He was so embarrassed, but we both laughed so hard! It was a great moment. I watched Mitchell grow up over the years through those framed photos in his office. I would ask every year, "How's Mitchell doing?" He definitely was a very proud papa! We will all miss his sense of humor and his great laugh! A really nice guy. My sincere sympathies.

I was honored to meet Mike for the first time earlier this year at Claire Neilsons celebration of life. I felt a connection to Mike through the stories and experiences Claire shared with me of their days at the Shores. RIP Mike Vikki Korporaal
