Just wanted to thank everybody for signing this book and for your thoughts and support and prayers, My Dad was my best friend and provided me with an enormous amount of support. He was always there for me, encouraging me to pursue my dreams and goals. I always would consult him before making alot of decisions and he always seemed to know the right thing to say. We've gone to numerous concerts, football games, basketball games, soccer games, ect. you name it. My fondest memories are from the house on Carlton Oaks, where i would play basketball in the backyard while he would swim in the pool, then unwind in the jacuzzi. He loved to swim and loved water, and said that he would surf, swim and get back in shape this upcoming summer. He was a very generous person with an enourmous heart, very loyal, and appreciated good friends. He always made the impossible seem possible and has inspired me to follow my heart in all that i do. Its really a tough time, and there is a tremendous void left deep within my mind, heart, and soul, but I thank God for the oppurtunity to have a father like him, spending time with him, getting to know him, and watching Chargers games with him, my life is forever changed by this, and since January 15th will never be the same, but his inspiration and voice will always be at the forefront of my thoughts, and i'm determined to do everything in my power and in my life to make him proud of me, you'll always be with me friend, I love you,

We were sorry to hear about Mike's passing. Greg and I met Mike at La Maze classes before David was born and became friends. David and our son, Christopher, were born only days apart in 1978. We shared our early parenting experiences together and even helped get the family moved into their house in Santee. Unfortunately, we ended up losing touch with one another through the years. We still have photos and memories from the times we spent together as young parents just beginning our families. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Although, I have never personally met Mike, I have had numerous occasions to listen to Courtney, my daughter, who was a good friend of his talk about him. Even though there was a big jump in years apart between both of them, she had nothing but good to say about him. He was kind, a good listener, loved laughter and life. He was very understanding, positive, gave good advice, didn't sweat the small stuff and generous. His family and friends always came before himself. I can only say that what Courtney has experienced in every day life wasn't found in Mike - he was extraordinary. Our thoughts of the family have been in our prayers.

Dear All,

I just want to express my gratitude to everyone for sharing their memories of my Dad. He was a great guy and I'll miss his great advice and warm heart. In this past week my family has brought great strength and support to my brother and I. I have felt so much love and I am reminded of what family is for and how it should be.

Love,

Mike,

I have so many great memories of Mike Cox from my childhood. I was his son David's best friend growing up in Santee. I remember going to San Diego Sockers games, going to the beach and hanging out at his apartment in Santee. He was a really great guy, and even though we've lost touch over the years, my mom Susan and our whole family want to wish to best to David and Liz. Your dad was a strong spirit and loved every day of his life. He loved his children, his music, and especially his guitar collection. He always treated us like family and was one of the most friendliest and warmest human beings we ever have known. I still remember falling face first out of the bed of his Mitsibishi pickup and him rushing me up to my dad's condo, bloody face and all. I remember to this day, in 1986, I had the decision either to go with my family to see Haley's Comet, or spend the night at David and Mike's. I chose to spend the night with David and Mike, and it was to cloudy to see the comet anyway. They still hound me for that decision. I joined the Air Force and am stationed in Alaska. I have a wife, 2yr old daughter, and a 1 month old son, and I hope they can find a friend like Mike while they are growing up. We'll miss you.

Mike was a customer for years at our Post Office in Santee. We missed him after he moved to the beach. It was very sad to read about his passing. I will miss him and have good memories of him and his son coming in. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a wonderful person.

Michael:

Farewell my friend, I'll really miss you. Thank you for being a supportive friend through out the years. I hope to see you again some day, wherever that may be. This piece, written by the author Robert Bach, helps me to believe that we will indeed see each other again.....

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes,

a farewell is necessary before you meet again.

And meeting again, whether it's a minute or a lifetime, is certain for those who are friends".

Love,

Junior
