Myrtle Larson Obituary

Myrtle Larson, 97 ESCONDIDO -- Myrtle Larson, 97 passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Oak Hill Residential Care in Escondido, Calif. She was born in Berthold, North Dakota, the eleventh of fifteen brothers and sisters on Nov. 11, 1910, to Hans and Katherine Hansen. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Myrtle worked as a cook most of her life. After retiring she became a true soldier in the Salvation Army, which she served by devoting herself and her time for many years. She was preceded in death by all her fourteen siblings; sons, Ronald and Gordon Larson; daughters-in-law, Doris and Bernice Larson; son-in-law, Leroy Ohlhauser and grandson, Todd Rufenacht. She is survived by son, Jerry Larson of Renton, Wash.; daughters, Louise Ohlhauser of El Cajon, Calif. and Bernice Rufenacht of Escondido; daughter-in-law, Lucy Larson of Baldrin, Wis.; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Salvation Army Church, 1303 Las Villas Way in Escondido. All who knew her are welcome to attend. Myrt will truly be missed. I can still see her playing cards and singing her songs (different lyrics each time). I am honored to have known her. She will always be in my heart. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.
