Nicholas Wilde Obituary

WILDE, NICHOLAS ROBERT, PFC Private First Class Nicholas Robert Wilde, 22, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 during a training exercise at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and Camp Pendleton, California. He was born on December 20, 1982 in La Mesa, CA and raised in Poway, CA. In February 2004 he moved to Sparks, NV to reside with his parents who had recently moved from Poway, CA. He decided to join the Marine Corps to further his opportunities in law enforcement and also to protect and serve his country. After completing the 12 weeks of boot camp and School of Infantry training, he was one of the few elite Marines selected to join the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. Nick is survived by his parents; Bruce and Debbie Wilde, two sisters; Jaymie Davis and her husband Dan of Sparks, NV, Jenn Wilde of San Diego, CA, his brother; Brandon Wilde of Studio City, CA, grandparents; Arnold and Ione Wilde of El Cajon, CA and David and Mary Ann Price of Carlsbad, CA. He also leaves behind one niece; Emilie Davis along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends. A celebration of his life will be held at New Hope Church, 10330 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego, CA, on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 1:00 pm. A military burial with honors will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, 435 Stoker Ave., Reno, NV, on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the Green Valley Church youth camp has been set up, which was very dear to Nick's heart.
