Paul and I were roommates when we were lifeguards, and it was absolutely a crazy period in our lives. R.I.P.

Vince Giacalone, also a member of USMCR remembers going night diving for lobster with Paul, and always getting Lucky.

I am saddened to hear of Paul's passing. My earliest recollection of Paul was of our time spent at Bayside Social Center in Little Italy. We were both in elementary school. Our friendship continued at SDHS where we were both on the football team. We shared many experiences, one of which was enjoying my first beer in Paul's company. Paul, Art Vidal and I knew we wanted to continue our education at SDSU. However, before the start of our college career we wanted to do something adventurous and different. So we decided to enlist in the Marine Corps Reserves in which the obligation was 6 month active duty and after we began attending college. The plan worked, as all 3 of us were able to graduate from SDSU and go on to successful professional careers. My deepest sympathies to Paul's family.

I Love & miss you so much Dad. I remember all the good memories I was a child and the things you taught me growing up.

All the skateboarding and racing motorcycles and then converting over to being a guitar player i feel very fortunate. Thank you and you were always very lenient with me.

I love you Dad

Few understand the bond San Diego Lifeguards shared. There has to be a special place in heaven, saved for Paul and our fellow guards. Paul's family was blessed by his presence in their lives.

I have known Paul since the early 70's. We both lived in Mission Beach and played a lot of volleyball together. The group of us that used to play together is sadly, slowly dwindling as we all get older. Paul's son Michael was my son Tom's best friend and skateboard partner for many years. Paul and his family were an integral part of the fabric of my life. I miss knowing that we won't get together again.

Good SDHS friend -- I'm so sorry I lost contact with you many years ago. I still see the guys from Little Italy once in a while - I remember the spaghetti dinners we attended at Our Lady of the Rosary. God bless . . . . .
