My brother my friend, we did so many things, I'm not so sure what to say. We grew up together and have so many memories. Maybe I should share about taking the old mans corvette or skating on the pond. We lost touch for a while but I knew you would be back in my life when I needed you. You built such a legecy for youself & your family. I am proud of the person you became and I do believe that we will be together in the life hereafter. I'll see you in heaven in my '66 Hemi. Forever your brother your friend Lenny. As Hot Rod would say "Whoa" "Love You Buddy"

Dearest Hotrod,
Thanks for all you did for Ronnie and I. If it wasnt for you Ronnie would have chickened out, but you made it possible for us to have our first "date" at the ranch. We also are greatful for letting us get married at the ranch, letting us ride the mares up to the wedding barn and get married in the barn.........and to top it off you bought champagne for the whole wedding party! You are awesome dude!
Love ya, Julia

I went to the "Fillin' Station" to satisfy my Karaoke "Jones". After singing one of my favorites from my cd collection, HOT ROD motioned me over for a beer . I could tell he wanted to get up and try it out, so I gave him a little encouragement by joining him in a song. From the on he became a karaoke junkie like me (Ron Banzon).
That next year a New Years Party was held in the barn at Miramar Stables. He rented Judy Ames' karaoke equipment for a song (pun intended) and I helped him set it up. No alcohol was allowed, but you knew HOT ROD bent that one.

Philip
Thank YOU for all the good things that you taught me.
I know that YOU gave the shirt off your back many times to many people.
Have a well deserved sleep (John 11:11), in “Perfect Peace (Isaiah 26: 3&4)
You just got a little head start ahead of me.
Hold the door open with your foot for me.
I am right behind you.
I know that YOU made things right with God.
We will meet in the air with the Lord Jesus (1st Thessalonians 4: 16,17,18)
I LOVE YOU brother Philip

My new horse was being delivered to Miramar Stables one evening. He never showed up. The next morning, 5:00 AM, my phone rang, "We came to the stables & there was a locked gate. We are going to leave this horse tied at the gate." I was at home in Escondido so I called Hot Rod. He answered the phone with, "Somebody had better be dead..." Well, I was already panicked & he sounded so angry, I started crying like a baby. I explained the situation & he said that he'd take care of it. I arrived 30 min. later & the horse was tucked safely into a pen & the delivery people were taking off. He apologized for adding to my stress & forever after was a friend to me & my horse, Sandy.
Sandy colicked one day, the vet came out & told me to keep him up, give him this shot if he continued to act pained. I stayed all night, Hot Rod made sure I was OK before he left for keraoke, came back with a jacket when he realized that I didn't have any warm clothes (not having planned on the horse getting sick that day), and then brought me dinner after keraoke and sat with me while I ate it.
What a nice guy. He was always willing to give me ideas on my psycho horse, always telling me that it was the crazy horse & not me. A truly kind man (maybe with a hard persona on the outside), I'll miss him. Mare Gilbert
