RITA ANN SELLERS

SELLERS, RITA ANN July 20, 1931 to April 11, 2012 Rita Ann Sellers, on April 11, 2012, surrounded by family passed peacefully from this world to the next. Her beautiful smile, laughter and love will be missed most by her husband of 55 years Ken, sons Scott (Teresa), Steve (Hanh), Dan, and Paul, and grandchildren Sydney, Alec, Shannon, Shawna, and Davy. Rita was born July 20, 1931, to Charles and Margaret Flynn in Dolton, SD. She was the seventh of nine children and was preceded in death by brothers LeRoy and LaVerne, sisters Letha Juffer and Mary Healy. Surviving siblings are, Louis Flynn, Teresa Betlejewski, Loretta Falor, and Joe (Gloria) Flynn. She worked for Bell telephone and retired from Mercy Hospital. She will be well remembered for her dinners, lively family gatherings, and her kind consideration for all. On the day she left us, our normally sunny San Diego skies gave way to a gray misty overcast. But after she had passed, it was sunshine and blue skies again, like the sunshine Rita brought to so many lives for so long. The Irish request more time for a loved one by saying that "God grant you many years to live, for sure He must be knowing, The earth has angels all too few, and Heaven is overflowing." With Rita's passing the score has changed once more in favor of Heaven. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., May 11, 2012, at St. John of the Cross, 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA 91945. Interment at 9:30 a.m. on May 25 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Meals on Wheels in Rita's name.
