Ronald Edward Tople passed away on Monday, August 16th at Scripps La Jolla hospital. Ron, also known as "Bud" was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Ruth Tople. He was the oldest of three boys. He served in the United States Navy proudly as a "Tin Can Sailor" and then went on to pursue a degree in Engineering. He attended the University of Michigan and was very loyal to his Alma Mater. He relocated to San Diego to pursue his Masters degree at SDSU and became an electrical aerospace engineer. He was employed with General Dynamics for 20+ years. Ron was influential in the development of the Tomahawk missile as well as many other aerospace developments. Ron married his neighbor, Lorraine Rominski from one street over in Michigan in 1969. She accompanied him to San Diego where they designed and constructed their forever home in Escondido. Ron and Lorraine were married for 48 years until her passing in 2017. Ron was very involved in the Boy Scouts and was an avid world traveler. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He leaves behind his son, Tom Tople, daughter-in-law, Alicia Tople, daughter, Julie De Witt and son-in-law, Robert De Witt. His brother, Marvin Tople, nieces and nephews, Christine Sova, Stephanie Niborski, Edward Tople, Lawrence Tople. And his most cherished grandchildren. Papa "Bud" will be extremely missed by Jake Tople, Kellanie Perea, Hunter Arnold, Peyton De Witt, Ian De Witt and Gavin De Witt. A funeral service will be held September 7th at St. Mary's church and burial at Miramar National Cemetery with military honors.
