Rose Ordoñez Obituary

Rose Macedo Ordoñez, a long-time resident of Vista, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2023, in the company of her family. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto (2009), and oldest daughter Martha (2016).
Born on January 8th, 1936, as one of 10 children to Marcelina and Valentine Macedo, she was raised in Carlsbad, CA. She often spoke fondly of her youth in post WWII, small town Carlsbad, spending summer days at Tamarack Beach and family gatherings at the house on Madison Street.
In 1955, she married Ernesto Ordoñez. They moved to Los Angeles, returned to Carlsbad for a short time, and ultimately, they purchased a home on Tatum Street in Vista in 1963. Rose stayed in Vista for most of her years, spending her last years at Vista Cascade Mobile Home Park.
Quiet and soft-spoken, Rose was an incredibly dedicated mother and homemaker, graciously raising her seven children, who all went on to enjoy successful careers. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Rose touched the lives of numerous extended family and friends, who loved her dearly. Family was everything to her, and she was our foundation. She will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 3 pm on August 5th, at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens in Vista, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association can be made in Rose's name.
