Suzanne Fink Obituary

Suzanne H. Fink ("Zan") was born Suzanne Schall Harbs on September 29, 1938 to George and Florence Harbs. She was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, church member at First Presbyterian Church, San Diego, neighbor and friend.Suzanne attended Grossmont High School and graduated in 1956, then went on to San Diego State University where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She went on to USC where she attended to be a Dental Hygienist, a job she held for many years. She had two children from her first marriage, Kristen Suzanne Jensen and Brian Charles Jensen. In 1981, she met and married William A. Fink ("Bill"), who would become the love of her life for 33 years. They enjoyed the fullest of life, with many trips and adventures. Bill preceded her to heaven in 2015.Suzanne was deeply involved with her Grossmont High School Alumni. Many of her dear friends are lifelong ones from Grossmont. Suzanne was an integral part of her Church Family at "First Pres" where she was a Deacon, and spent countless hours in the kitchen and garden. More importantly, she was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - "Gigi". She deeply loved and was a fierce supporter and defender of her family. She left a legacy of acceptance, love, hospitality and graciousness.Suzanne is survived by daughter, Kristie George (Chris), son, Brian Jensen (Laurie), step-son, Richard Fink (Vicki), step-daughter, Laura Fink Cohen (Philip) and their families. She had twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 320 Date St., San Diego, 92101 on Saturday, July 20th at 11 a.m.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Zan's memory to First Presbyterian Church, 320 Date St., San Diego, 92101.
