T Schenck Remsen September 26, 1928 - August 8, 2016 McCall, Idaho It is with the deepest love and respect that we reflect upon a life never squandered and lived to the fullest. With that strength we share the loss of "T" Schenck Remsen on Monday, 8 August, 2016. He served his country as a Naval Aviator for twenty years, seeing several combat tours in the Korean and Vietnam theaters, as well as tours as a jet transition instructor in the Naval Training Command. He was recognized as an iconic figure within the fighter community at NAS Miramar during the 1960's as one of the leading architects of the modernization and evolution of fighter tactics.Schenck is survived by his son, Steve Pitts, daughter for life, Paige Walker, and his many friends who have been family to him for decades. A Navy Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Rosecrans National Cemetery, with a reception following the service at the San Diego Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers or gifts please forward donations to Tailhook Educational Foundation, "Spirit of Carrier Aviation, In Memory of T. Schenck Remsen" Scholarship, 9696 Business Park Ave., San Diego, CA 92131-1643.

Thank you for being a very special friend to my mom and dad, Mr. Remsen. I often wondered if you and my dad would return from tailhook in that plane of yours, but I didn't worry because you were doing what you loved to do. Plus, I knew my mom was safe with your dog whom she adored. --Julie
