I had the honor of acquaiting with Admiral Malone while I was Executive Director of the Navy League, San Diego. I was invited to his Coronado home for dinner one evening. Seated at his right hand, I waited for him to pick up a fork or glance my way with a Mike quip that made me laugh. He was quick witted and charming. I'm sad to notice he passed.

Mike and I were classmates in the National War College Class of 1985. We lost him much too soon. His family has my prayers and condolences.

Mike and I were in the same study group at the National War College, class of 1985. A charismatic individual, he radiated intelligence, humor, and competency. He stood out in every way, including his flaming red hair. We all knew he would be a Navy standout.
My sincere condolences to his wife and family.
