His career took him to Rota, Spain in 1980 and in 1982, he and his bride, Sharon Walker Williamson, were married on the Rock of Gibraltar. Bill's history is woven from many loving relationships throughout his life, as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Bill is survived by his loving wife and partner of 25 years, Sharon Kalberer, his children, Marla Soler and husband, Jim, of Seattle, WA; Julie Kalberer of Quinby, SC; Tina Matthews of Gig Harbor, WA; Todd Williamson and Deseret Weeks of Blue Lake, CA; Shane Williamson and wife, Kara, of McKinley-ville, CA; sister, Helen Coates, of Chula Vista, CA; brother, Irv Rhodes and wife, Esther of Murietta, CA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and many good friends, including his buddies from VFW Post 5867 in Lakeside, CA all of whom will greatly miss their dear Bill-o but will hold him close in their hearts forever. A Memorial Service is planned for May 17, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1460 Midway Dr., in Alpine, CA. Darling, we won't ever stop missing Bill-o's warm and winning ways. Even now, it seems like only yesterday that he was eating his favorite meal with us at Nati's. And who can watch a Chargers game without thinking of him? May God bless you in finding your way on your new path in life, and may the love of so many friends and family bring you comfort and companionship all along the way.
We're here for you ...
Love, Candice and Marlan

Sharon:

My thoughts, prayers and love are you. The love and devotion you had for Bill-O will remain in everyone's lives who knows you. Other than an awesome wife you were his best friend and what you did could be seen it was from your heart. May God's blessing be with you always. He will give you the peace and strength each day to go on.

Sharon,
We are so sorry for your loss! We loved "Bill-O" so much. He was so much more than our brother-in-law!
He was more like our brother and a best friend all rolled into one... So loving, caring, and generous. What a wonderful sense of humor. Every thing around here reminds us of him. We will miss him and pray for him. He fought the good fight for soo long and we know he has gone on to a much better place where he will not hurt anymore.

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. Bill-o was one of the most compassionate and fun loving men I have ever had the opportunity to work with (two years at the Naval Supply Center). He was truly a great American, veteran, Federal employee, and above all, honorable and loving individual. He will be sorely missed but always remembered fondly and warmly.
